LIFE LESSON 5: You Get What You Don't Deserve

I know that the more common saying is: "You get what you deserve."
Unfortunately, through experience, i have come to learn that sometimes, you get what you do not deserve.
Sometimes, despite trying to do everything right, despite giving it your all, you still get the raw end of the deal. I mean, what's up with that?!
I must admit, this lesson was a painful one to learn. a bitter pill to swallow. And it changed me.
Now, i can't help but think sometimes, "what the hell for?". What the hell is my effort going to be for if i just end up bruised and beaten once again? Why waste my time? Why waste my strength?
I need to be given the reason to believe that it could be worth it.
Yes, this lesson has changed me...and i have the scars to prove it.

LIFE LESSON 4: Love Your Job

Most everyone experiences some ups and downs with their respective jobs. i know I've had my fair share of bursts of enthusiasm for new projects and responsibilities, as well as moments of disengagement. But in the past few of months, I've been experiencing a rising passion for what i do and an increased appreciation for the people i work with. Most specially for the people i work with. We have our own culture: where complimenting each other is not a challenge, and helping each other is not only a given, but a joy.
Often times i do not get enough sleep and i have to work long hours (sometimes work even on weekends), but still, I'm happy where i am. I love my job, I love the people i work with, and so "busy" doesn't really feel like such a burden.

LIFE LESSON 3: Love is Blind

Love is blind...the first time around.
I hope only the first time around.

LIFE LESSON 2: Nothing Lasts Forever

"Nothing lasts forever" is a fallacy.
Many things can last forever: like memories, friendship, or LOVE.
All it takes is commitment and effort.
"Nothing lasts forever" is the lazy man's excuse for not wanting to put in the effort to keep something alive.

LIFE LESSON 1: Positive Thinking Works

Since I have decided to write my life’s lessons in no particular order, I thought: why not begin on a positive note? So here goes…
I’ve heard about the book, The Secret, from friends and about how inspiring and life changing it is. So I borrowed the book to see what all the fuss was about. I’m not done reading it, but so far, it talks about the basic principle of “like attracts like” and how the universe will conspire to give you what you want. Although, the tricky part really is to know the right way of asking for what you want. Basically, it’s positive thinking. And cliché it may seem, I have begun to realize that it does work. Nothing significantly life changing has happened to me so far, but just the general positive outlook is refreshing.
I have gone through one of the most negative experiences in my life just a few months ago, but coming out from that with this renewed positivism has just become such a high for me. Everything taste better and feels better than before. I realized I’m happy and knowing that I am multiplies the feeling ten-fold.
Positive thinking, it’s all in the mind. It’s only a matter of perspective. And as the book says, if you give out positive thoughts, it will come back to you. Like attracts like.
